Concrete is an ideal material for fountains. It is free-form, can be cast into any shape, from a classically circular tank to an asymmetrical modern form. It is durable and resistant to permanent contact with water, with the right composition of the mixture and surface treatments, a concrete fountain can last for decades without major repairs. And unlike steel or plastic fountains, exposed concrete takes on a patina over time, which gives it character.
Types of concrete fountains we produce
Each fountain is a custom project, the shape, dimensions, depth of the tank, and the way the water flows are designed for a specific location. We most often produce standing fountains with a central water element, a classic form that works in squares and gardens. For modern projects with a minimalist expression, we design cascading fountains, where the water flows down concrete terraces and creates a calm, smooth flow.
A special category are concrete fountains with integrated LED lighting. The illuminated water at night creates a dramatic effect that changes the character of the entire space. We build the lighting elements directly into the concrete structure of the fountain during production, the result is robust, safe and low-maintenance.
Material and technical design
A common concern with concrete fountains is the absorbency of the concrete. At KLOCOK, we address this issue by selecting the right concrete mix composition and applying waterproofing additives and coatings directly during production. The resulting concrete has minimal absorbency and will withstand continuous contact with water without leaching, efflorescence, or biological growth.
