Concrete spheres and barriers protect pedestrians and public spaces from vehicle impacts, but when properly designed, they do not act as safety infrastructure at all. A sphere of exposed concrete at the entrance to a pedestrian zone is a natural part of the architecture of the space for passers-by, not a warning sign. It is this function without visual disturbance that is why architects and city managers are increasingly choosing concrete protective elements from the manufacturer, not from a traffic sign catalog.

At KLOCOK, we manufacture concrete balls, bollards, posts and barriers to order, each piece in the dimensions, shape and surface finish that corresponds to a specific location. To speed up the order, we also have standard dimensions available:

- concrete balls with diameters of 25, 30, 45 and 60cm.

- bollards in the form of a traffic barrier with a diameter of 20, 22, 35cm and a height of 50, 75, 80, 115 and 120cm.

There is no one universal solution for every space, it depends on where the element is located, what kind of vehicle fleet we want to stop, and how the element should look in the context of the surrounding paving and architecture.

Concrete balls - a shape that works

The round shape of the concrete barrier is no coincidence. The sphere has no edges that a vehicle could get caught on, and at the same time its shape visually blends in with the surrounding elements such as flower pots, seats, and streetlights. Concrete spheres with a diameter of 45 to 60 centimeters and a weight of 115 to 270 kilograms are practically impossible to move, even with a regular vehicle.

We produce concrete balls in exposed concrete, washed-out surface with natural aggregate and in special color shades of pigmented concrete. The ball can be set freely or anchored to the base with an anchoring pin for even greater stability.

Barriers and bollards - linear space protection

Where we need to delimit a longer section, concrete bollards or barriers are a more suitable choice. A bollard is a low, massive concrete element that physically separates the pedestrian zone from the roadway. At the right height, the bollard also functions as a seating area, which is another point in favor of concrete as a multifunctional material. For such a specific case, we produce a barrier in the form of a cube in the dimensions of 60x60cm / 50cm.

Larger concrete barriers are used by industrial site managers, event organizers, and cities for temporary or complete closure of areas.

Realization of concrete balls and traffic barriers KLOCOK

KLOCOK concrete balls and barriers are installed in the pedestrian zone in Bardejov, at the entrances to administrative buildings in Bratislava and Poprad, in the parking lots of shopping centers and in other locations. For each project, we designed different dimensions and surfaces so that the element aesthetically fits into the surroundings.

How to get a quote for concrete barriers?

If you are looking for concrete balls or traffic barriers for your square, pedestrian zone, park or parking lot, send us a drawing, project or photo of the space. And we will answer you with technical questions and a subsequent preliminary price quote.

Since its establishment in 1995, KLOCOK Poprad, s.r.o. has specialized in the custom production of architectural prefabricated concrete elements. It is a small-series or piece-manufacturing of unique concrete 3D elements for beautifying the exterior and interior.
