A precast concrete element on a building facade is an architectural statement. It speaks of materials, concrete does not look like anything else, it speaks for itself. It speaks of durability, a facade made of exposed concrete does not need to be repainted every five years. And it speaks of attention to detail, precast concrete facade elements with precisely machined edges and a consistent texture require a manufacturer who knows what they are doing. At KLOCOK, we have been producing custom concrete architectural elements for buildings since 1995.
A prefabricated concrete element for a facade or building structure has one fundamental advantage over concrete cast directly on site: quality control. In the factory, we have optimal conditions for preparation, mixing of the concrete mixture and hardening and subsequent final processing. We cannot guarantee these conditions on the construction site, so the result is less predictable. The prefabricated element arrives at the construction site finished, inspected and ready for assembly.
What we produce for buildings
Facade concrete panels and cladding elements form the building envelope or part of it. They can be flat with a smooth surface, embossed with a different pattern or text or coat of arms.
Sills, parapets and cornices are concrete elements that end window openings, roof surfaces or horizontal lines of a facade. A precisely dimensioned concrete sill properly drains rainwater away from the facade and at the same time creates a clean horizontal line that gives the facade order and order.
Columns are load-bearing or decorative concrete columns that form a characteristic element of some types of buildings. A concrete column made of exposed concrete is elegant and durable, does not require repainting, and its proportions remain stable regardless of temperature fluctuations.
Exposed concrete - surfaces and shades
Exposed concrete is not just one look, it is a whole range of surfaces and shades. Washed concrete with exposed aggregate is visually richer and more natural. Hobbing is a manual surface treatment with a special tool that gives concrete a stone look.
The color shades of concrete are influenced by the type and amount of cement, the type of aggregate and any pigment additives. At KLOCOK we produce various color shades. You can find our surface treatments in the surfaces section or in the surfaces document itself . For a customer who requests a specific shade, we produce samples before production.
